Call to put exercise back on the school curriculum

Morning guys! Here is an article I did with Les Mills Master Trainer and Presenter Matthew Thraxton which was published on the Gippsland news portal.

It is so important that we get kids moving early in life. There is a problem currently where if you are sporty then that's fine and there's your exercise but if you are not then you get left behind.
PE is on most primary school curriculum but it is when you get to secondary school or high school that the risk starts to present itself n a real and serious way.
By introducing group fitness as part of the curriculum (while keeping the individual or team sports) every body is involved in physical activity without requiring any special or particular talent (such as football, netball, etc) and importantly adolescents start associating exercise with fun. It's about inclusion and not just elite sportsmanship. It's time we tackled global obesity in a different way, early intervention could be the key.
